Course Overview
Supervisors and Managers are faced with problems which requires immediate decision. To
improve the effectiveness of the decision making of our frontlines. We need to equip them with
the appropriate Problem Solving techniques in approaching problems. For purposes of this
program we recommend Value Stream Analysis (VSA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and the 6
Thinking Hats (6HATS) as basic tools. The program is designed for the participants to learn basic
and complex approaches to problem solving. The 6 thinking hats is included to let participant
learn the value of perspective in making decisions in a fast phase environment.
To achieve organizational effectiveness all key players must be engaged in meeting these
essential requirements. And one big step towards that end is for you to become master of the
processes that lie behind all effective problem solving and decision making and critical and
creative thinking.
The Policy
The Problem Solving and Decision Making is a program intended for Supervisors and Managers
under the Program for Leadership, Administrative, and Technical (Skills) Enhancement (PLATE).
This will form a part of the succession planning, work development and requirement for
promotion or movements.
This is a 24 hour program is based on the umbrella of Problem Solving and Decision Making
(PSDM). For purposes of specializing on certain tools, lecture shall focus Value Stream Analysis,
Root Cause Analysis and 6 thinking Hats. Participants is required to complete all 3 modules under
the PSDM program.
